25 years ago, five U.S. battery manufacturers formed the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) to responsibly collect and recycle rechargeable batteries. Since then, more than 150 million pounds of batteries have been collected and recycled across North America through our program. We’re thankful to all those who have played a role in advancing battery recycling and look forward to celebrating this milestone over the coming year! A program participant since 2001, The Home Depot recently marked a major milestone as the first U.S. Call2Recycle retail partner to recycle 10MM pounds of rechargeable batteries.
